About us
Hello! We’re Bev and Ed Hutton, and we’ve been lucky enough to call this lovely cottage in the heart of Beaulieu our home for over 20 years.
After retiring, we thought it would be wonderful to open up our home and share a little slice of the New Forest with others. What started as a small idea has become something we truly enjoy — welcoming guests, hearing their stories, and helping them discover the beauty and charm of this unique area.
We’re now in our fourth year of hosting, and we love it just as much as we did at the beginning (if not more!).
Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a long walk among the ponies, or just to unwind, we’re happy to offer a cosy space and a few local tips along the way.

A Truly Special Stay in the Heart of Beaulieu
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Ed and Bev’s charming cottage in Beaulieu this August, and it was nothing short of delightful.
The cottage itself is steeped in history, with a character that draws you in the moment you arrive. It’s one of those rare places that seems to tell stories of the past through every beam and corner. The bedroom we stayed in was gorgeous—elegantly decorated with thoughtful touches throughout, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It’s clear that Bev and Ed have a real eye for detail and a love for creating a warm, welcoming space.
The shared bathroom was spotless, adding a touch of luxury to the stay. In the evenings, we relaxed in their beautiful garden, where we chatted away with Ed and Bev, soaking up their stories and learning more about the rich history of the area.
It was a truly memorable visit, and we’re so grateful to have experienced such a special place, made even better by the warmth and generosity of our hosts.

Everything about the cottage and the hosts was first class. They left little treats in the room for us, spoke to us when they saw us and were interested in what we had done that day.

Very relaxing stay. Great location for Beaulieu Motor and Gardeners World show. Parking at side of house. Lovely comfy bed. Fridge. Good choice of teas etc. Fresh milk. Very welcoming and friendly. Great view from window. Access to tv. Plenty of cafes nearby with good food and opposite garden centre with lovely café. Pleasant local walks and 2 mile pretty walk to Bucklers Hard off high street. Would stay again.

It was a nice stay and a much more interesting place than we expected, we wished to stay longer.
Kind hosts. We could leave our backpack before checking in time and after checking out time which made our walks more comfortable. There were some small things, like oatmilk in a small refrigerator and such.

Great place to see the New Forest, nice big comfy room and welcoming hosts.
Wonderful characterful cottage, very comfortable bed, nice big room with great selection of teas and coffees. Really lovely hosts Bev and Ed were very welcoming but also super quiet and discrete. The location is beautiful, in the centre of Beaulieu, cafes and shops in the highstreet and nice pub The Monty just a couple of minutes walk. We were greeted by donkeys on arrival and saw loads of ponies, foals and wildlife all very nearby. Highly reccmmended and excellent value. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Perfect hiking stop
We made a stopover there on a hike and were warmly welcomed. Everything was very uncomplicated and absolutely suitable for us.

What was good:
Pretty much everything. Bed was amazingly comfortable and the cottage was exquisite. Hosts awesome.
Issues:
It is an historical character cottage. It was not built with disability access in mind and as two people with significant disabilities It was at the limit of our adventurous nature. BUT. The owners had done everything possible to make it possible for us to enjoy our stay. We felt safe moving around and it was kind of fun living on edge. 
So if you have limited mobility but fancy something other than carefully sanitised accessibility - go for it.

Perfect Stay at Ed & Bev’s B&B
I can’t recommend Ed & Bev’s B&B highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the kind you just melt into after a day of exploring. The location couldn’t be better, right in beautiful Beaulieu and just a short stroll from the famous car museum.
Ed and Bev are the most welcoming hosts, warm, friendly, and full of great tips about the local area. The setting is peaceful and charming, making it the perfect base to enjoy the beauty and history of the New Forest.
If you’re looking for comfort, hospitality, and a fantastic location, this is the place to stay. I’ll definitely be returning
